Ascension Journal 11th Oct '22

 'Consciousness or awareness of the spirit within is the only power & the only mover. The consciousness of man is perpetual motion: our mind is always active, even when asleep for nothing sleeps. Our disciples{referring to Jesus rebuking the storm in a boat with his disciples} are our mental attitudes, moods & faculties which go with us wherever we go. You have 12 disciples, 12 faculties of mind. They're within you. We're here to discipline all these faculties, such as sight, imagination, feeling, hearing & so on. So our disciples are these attitudes, moods, faculties which go with us wherever we go. We must not let Jesus go to sleep in the boat.

All the characters in the Bible are states of mind within you: Jesus is your awareness of the divine power within you, enabling you to achieve, accomplish & realize your objectives.Your knowledge of the laws of mind & your use of mental & spiritual laws is your saviour / solution at all times everywhere. God is your saviour, your solution, your higher self, which means you must not go along blithely with the winds, opinions & fears of man. And the waves : melancholia, envy, hatred, hostility & all that - these are the waves of the mass mind. 

The lake is your mind. When your mind is at peace, divine wisdom & divine ideas rise to the surface of your mind. The mind that stays on God feels his river of peace flowing through it & is full of poise, balance & serenity. The storm / wind represent the fear, terror & anguish which seize man at times, causing him to vacillate, hesitate & tremble with anxiety or foreboding. He finds himself pulled two ways: his fear holds him back & prevents him from going forward.

What do you do when fear & limitation seize your mind? Realize that when you're looking at your desire, you're looking at your saviour or the solution in your mind. Your saviour is always knocking on the door of your mind. Don't become submerged in watery -ve emotions like doubt/fear. Wake up your saviour: stir up the gift of God within you.God indwells you, walks & talks in you. God is the saviour, the solution to all problems that only knows the answer. It has no problem! Therefore, you are your own saviour for the simple reason Supreme Intelligence & boundless wisdom is within you.

Realize that by uniting with your desire mentally, you can  definitely & positively move over the turbulent, noisy & foaming waters of fear & hesitancy.That's called walking on the waters.Your faith is your feeling & your awareness that the thing you are praying for is the reality of the mind in the form of an idea or desire.Inasmuch as you thought about it, it's real. Trust the mental picture! By contemplating its reality you walk over the waters & you quiet the waves of fear. Your fear has abated because you know that when you focus your attention on your ideal, the creative power of the Infinite flows through that focal point of attention. That's called touching the hem of his garment.You're now stilling the waves. You've disciplined your mind. You've reasoned it out & you know that the idea is always real The thought is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Everything comes out of the invisible. You believe in the execution of the idea: that's what faith is.

Keep your eyes on your goal, your objective, knowing in your heart that there is an almighty power which supports you in all your ways. It never deserts or leaves you. The subjective mind responds to your constructive thinking & feeling. Thereby strength, sustenance & power are given you. To look down at the waves of fears, false beliefs & terror is to sink.Look up! Contemplate your vision & you go where your vision is. Turn your eyes to the hills from whence cometh your help. With your eyes stayed on God, there is no evil on your pathway.

Your ordered mind, your faith & confidence enables you to walk  over all the waters of Life to green pastures & still waters. True, you can command the winds & the waves & they will obey you because you have spiritual knowledge & awareness.

By redirecting your thought life, we control our emotional life. Don't abdicate & allow the gangsters of regret, hate, anger, subjective false beliefs etc to govern your mind & gain control of your reasoning faculties.: Joseph Murphy.
